Sophia is a rather determined individual who doesn't really like to put up with shit. Her general rule of thumb is to either put up or shut up, and if they won't do the first she'll make them do the second. That isn't to say she can't take a joke, especially when around those she might call friends or those whom generally have sarcastic attitude. She actually has a bit of a morbid sense of humor herself. She simply doesn't put up with the types that think being loud and acting in charge will get them everything they want in life. She also doesn't have much time for those that push others around who are or who they deem as weaker than themselves, and will often stick up for those who can't do so for themselves.
Sophia was born to two loving parents in the small town of Hellanos. Her father, Gregroy Corvosa, was a simple Rune Knight while her mother, Valentina, managed a tavern and bar. For her very early childhood it was a happy life, having been born into a rather large family with two brothers and a sister. They didn't have a lot in life, but what they were all comfortable and reasonably happy as far as Sophia knew. During the day her father would go out with the other Rune Knights while her mother and other siblings managed the tavern, or rather Sophia was being taken care of by their mother while her older siblings helped her run the tavern. Her older brother, who had a good ten years on her actually had first signed up for the Rune Knights when she was 3, and so she doesn't remember much of him. She remembers much of her other siblings however, all of a varying ages from her early childhood. To Sophia at least, everything was if not perfect, pretty damn nice. They had no troubles that she could remember from that early of an age nor could she remember how her father had come home drunk most nights and her mother often had to struggle to make ends meet, sometimes doing things she would rather not be doing. This would eventually lead to a point where Sophia's life would be shattered in mere moments, her happy family torn before she even really got to know them.
Her father, though a decent enough man, had his fair share of troubles. It didn't help that the Rune Knights weren't what he remembered them to be, there to actually protect the people of Hellanos and it's citizens. He'd known something had changed and things continued to get worse, but being that he had never risen high in the ranks of the Rune Knights stationed in Hellanos(probably cause of his refusal to play by the "rules" so to speak) he was never allowed to question the command. One night however he had, and he paid for it dearly. The Rune Knights stationed in Hellanos began threatening to kick him out of the Rune Knights or worse if he didn't begin to change his ways and start following the orders as they were laid before him. He would always stoutly refuse one day saying he'd join a guild if it really came down to it, and that was the day everything had changed. Apparently that rumor of him leaving the Rune Knights in Hellanos to join a guild had gotten to a high ranking official in the city, and they came to their tavern, this time giving him the ultimatum to begin following orders or he'd pay for it. He chose to pay for it, and thinking it would just be a removal from the order he was not expecting to be struck down in his own home, along with his wife who had gone to his defense. Sophia and the other children were hiding, though the officer who'd given the order to kill her father and mother had decided that the family hadn't paid enough. They wound up taking her siblings into custody saying they would make a decent profit off of them, with the exception of her eldest brother who was nowhere to be found. She herself escaped this cruel fate only because she'd been hiding in a different spot than her siblings, and the men who took them didn't seem to look all that hard for her. That night, at the age of six, she had crawled out of her hiding spot as she took in what had just happened. Her world shattered and torn before her eyes as she was helpless to do anything, crying in a pool of blood clutching at her parent's dead body before eventually rising up with nothing but her father's sword in hand, dragging it across the ground as she exited the tavern.
The next few years weren't any easier as she had to live on the streets, no one caring for a poor orphan girl. Hellanos was not a city that took kindly to the weak and unfortunate, and it had been even harder on Sophia who hadn't really experienced it's cruelty. Everyday though she took that sword of her father's out to a small grove where she would train with it every day, determined to get the strength to fight back against that which had torn her family apart. Granted she couldn't use it all that well since it was so much larger than her small frame, but she seemed to be able to get the hang of it. When she was about nine however a man had found her, and little to her knowledge he had decided to keep watch over her.
A few months had passed before he confronted the young girl out in her practice area. She was swinging at a tree which seemed to have quite a bit of wear and tear at it from the way she'd been hacking away at it, and the man came up from behind and pointed a gun at her. His first question had been where she had gotten the sword from, and why she continued to hold onto it. Much less trusting than she may have normally been at that age she didn't immediately trust him....but she also didn't feel like she had much of a choice. So she told him she'd do as her father would, and would die with it in hand before she told him anything. The man had been taken aback by such a statement, and realized he had mad a misjudgement. Putting the weapon away he had then told her who it is that he was exactly, and that apparently he knew her father from during the early days of the Rune Knights. He told her that while her father had remained with them, he had decided to join a guild finding that the Rune Knights stationed in Hellanos hadn't been what he'd thought.
Though skeptical about this, he had given enough information to her that she realized he had to be telling the truth. Seeing this as an opportunity Sophia asked if he would train her so she could one day join a guild, like her father had intended to do before he was murdered. The man was reluctant, but had a pretty good feeling she would end up dead if he didn't help her. He also had owed a debt to her father, so it was that day she had started her training as a mage, specifically a gun mage. Through the years then the man had instructed her both in the art of gunplay and swordplay, as well as martial arts. He told her if she wanted to join a guild and actually do anything, she shouldn't just rely on her magical abilities. Almost ten years have passed since she began her training, and her teacher had instructed her that he'd taught her all she could, at least for what he had to offer and that she should head to the academy if she wanted to join a guild to save her town of Hellanos. So he sent her packing, told her to develop her own skills in time, and off she went to continue to develop her skills to attempt to join one of the major guilds across the land.
Sophia has the ability to create bullets in the chamber of her special guns, known as spellstriker and spellslinger. This ability is because the guns seems to understand and interpret the user's will to condense into a bullet form within their chambers. These magical bullets have a variety of different abilities, most notably taking on the properties of an element. They may also be shot into a specific formation to create an effect associated with the type of bullets loaded into the chamber(s). A bullet imbued with magic will be able to hit non-solid objects made or powered by magic, such as but not limited to a body made of air.
Ability: Fire Shot- Allows the user to imbue a magical bullet into the chamber of their gun with the fire elemental class. When fired, the bullet melts through ice and causes a burning effect, igniting flammable objects if possible.
Sub Ability: Explosion- When five fire shots are fired into a star formation, the user can activate them to create an immediate explosion in the area with the radius centered around the cetner of the star. The bigger the formation, the bigger the explosion and will needed to create the explosion.
Sub Ability: Fire Wall- The user may fire two fire shots in a horizontal position of each other, then a third is shot above them to create a wall of fire that burns anything in it's path at the height of the third shot. The higher the third shot, the higher the wall and the more will is needed to mantain it. The wall lasts for a standard of two posts.
Sub Ability: Fire Run- The user may fires two blank fire shots directly above the targets head(including their own) in a cross formation. The blanks mean the user doesn't accidentally shoot themselves or who they wish to enhance, firing off but without an actual bullet leaving the chamber. She may fire more than two alternating between the sides on which they are fired, but this only extends the duration of the effect and doesn't make it anymore powerful. Doing so immediately enhances the users speed, allowing them to run faster and move quicker. The effect lasts for around two posts per shot fired.
Ability: Ice Shot- Allows the user to imbue a magical bullet into the chamber of their gun with the ice elemental class. When fired, the bullet freezes solid objects almost instantly and can even freeze water on impact.
Sub Ability: Ice Sheet- When five ice shots are fired into a star formation, a sheet of ice coats the ground causing immediate cold in the area as well as making it difficult for anyone but the user to stand on. The user can stand within the sheet of ice without trouble, though anyone else attempting will find their footing constantly slipping and sliding across the sheet of ice.
Sub Ability: Ice Wall- The user fires two ice shots in a horizontal line with a third ice shot that creates a wall of ice that's as high as the third shot fired. The wall of ice blocks most magical attacks and all non-magical attacks, while also blocking anyone trying to run into it. The ice wall also acts as a one way mirror for the user and their allies. The wall lasts for a standard of two posts, though a fire elemental attack may burn through it in one.
Sub Ability: Ice Armor- The user fires two blank ice shots directly above the targets head(including their own) in a cross formation. The blanks mean the user doesn't accidentally shoot themselves or who they wish to enhance, firing off but without an actual bullet leaving the chamber. She may fire more than two alternating between the sides on which they are fired, but this only extends the duration of the effect and doesn't make it anymore powerful. Doing so immediately enhances the users toughness granting them an ice like armor across their skin. The effect lasting for two posts per shot fired.
Ability: Lightning Shot- Allows the user to imbue a magical bullet into the chamber of their gun with the lightning elemental class. When fired, the bullet actually fires much like a lightning bolt from the sky, striking it's target instantly. The bullet however doesn't penetrate past barriers or through skin, but may light objects on fire and can electrocute a targets body to create areas of numbness.
Sub Ability: Lightning Field- When five lightning shots are fired into a star formation, a field of lightning will spread across the area paralyzing and electrocuting anyone caught inside with the exception of the user. The size of the field is of course determined by the size of the formation of the star, though it never reaches above waist level in height. The larger the size of the formation, the larger the field and the more will is needed to power it. The field lasts for a standard of two posts, though more will may be used to increase it's duration.
Sub Ability: Lightning Bolt- The user fires two lightning shots in a horizontal line wiht a third lightning shot being fired in the center of each at a certain height. When the third shot is fired, a bolt(or multiple bolts depending on the distance between the first two shots) of lightning immediately erupts and strikes anything within the area the first two lightning shots were fired at, with the lightning coming from where the third shot was fired at.
Sub Ability: Lightning Reflexes- The users fires two blank lightning shots above the target's head(including their own) in a cross formation. The blanks mean the user doesn't accidentally shoot themselves or who they wish to enhance, firing off but without an actual bullet leaving the chamber. She may fire more than two alternating between the sides on which they are fired, but this only extends the duration of the effect and doesn't make it anymore powerful. Doing so enhances the users reflexes(but not necessarily speed). This effect lasts for two posts per shot fired.
Ability: Water Shot- Allows the user to create bullets with the water elemental class. These bullets may actually pass through solid objects before striking their intended target, allowing them to bypass many defenses such as armor that would normally block bullets. Upon impact however they do not actually penetrate the target, but will hit the target with enough force to either bruise or break bone(to a living target) depending on where the shot was fired.
Sub Ability: Whirlpool- the user fires five water shots in a star formation creating a whirl pool that moves anything caught within it in a vicious circular motion with enough force to push up to one thousand pounds. The size of the whirl pool is decided simply on the size of the formation, but the force and height is actually decided by the user who may fire more shots into the whirl pool to increase it's momentum. The height almost always starts at waist height.
Sub Ability: Hydraulic Push- The user fires two water shots in a horizontal line with a third shot being fired in between them. Once the third shot is fired, water erupts in the to the height of the third shot pushing up anything that was caught in it's blast and forcing it away. This can include the user, allowing them to reach heights previously unavailable to them. The user may also fire more shots to give turn the hyrdaulic push into a pillar of water that keeps them afloat.
Sub Ability: Fluid Body- The user fires two blank water shots above the target's head(including their own) in a cross formation. The blanks mean the user doesn't accidentally shoot themselves or who they wish to enhance, firing off like normal but without an actual bullet leaving the chamber. She may fire more than two alternating between the sides on which they are fired, but this only extends the duration of the effect and doesn't make it anymore powerful. Doing so enhances the users flexibility to be that of water, allowing them to bend in ways that is almost thought of as inhuman. This effect lasts for two posts per shot fired.
Ability : Life Shot- Unlike the other types of bullets which can manifest in the chamber of a gun mage's weapons, Imbue Shot works a little differently. When she fires the shot she can decide whether or not her target is an ally or enemy. If an enemy, the shot will latch onto them if hit and begin to slowly drain their life force. If an ally is shot with Life Shot, they will instead be healed in the area they were shot. While this is technically two abilities, it functions as one for it only draws from one type of element. Life shots will not penetrate an enemies armor.
Sub-Ability: Bullet Heaven/Hell- When five life shots are fired into a star formation, they can be activated by firing one more life shot into the air targetted at it's center. Once the shot reaches the desired height it will begin raining down a three waves of life bullets that rain down on the gun mages allies and enemies. The size of the waves are determined by the size of the star created, starting at it's center and radiating outward to each point. Enemies take damage but are not peirced by the bullets, and instead merely begin to feel physically weaker, as if becoming sick. Allies are healed so long as they remain within the radius of the star. More waves of bullets can be activated by firing off more life shots in the center of the star, one wave for each extra bullet fired.
Sub-Ability: Life Rain- When two life shots are fired horizontally apart from each other with a third life shot being shot in the center of them, a rain of radiance begins at the height of the third shot. The radiance spreads within the horizontal line, allowing for allies to pass through to be healed of their wounds and damage, capable of being healed of most minor and one or two major wound, depending on the severity. The rain only lasts for one post.
Sub-Ability: Imbue Life- The user fires two blank life shots above the target's head(which may including their own) in a cross formation. The blanks mean the user doesn't accidentally shoot themselves or who they wish to enhance, firing off like normal but without an actual bullet leaving the chamber(Although for life shots it means they won't be healing their intended target). She may fire more than two alternating between the sides on which they are fired, but this only extends the duration of the effect and doesn't make it anymore powerful. Doing so fills the user with life energy, allowing for them to recharge an amount of energy spent for the amount of shots fired. This could mean that potentially, if not interrupted, the user or their ally/allies could fight indefinitely without tiring.
Items & Equipment Edit
Spellstriker and Spellslinger- Sophia's personalized guns that she's built and designed herself. Many consider them to be almost sentient, for they seem to react only to her will and won't seem to fire for anyone else. The reality is that the guns are powered solely by her own will, and have been even given a piece of her soul. That piece of her soul is what allows for the guns to be able to create bullets and imbue them, and is why the gun reacts to her and her alone. She may also call them to her if they're at a distance or have it materialize in her hand, provided there isn't something blocking her mana from connecting to it. If the gun is ever destroyed(Highly unlikely, as if ever broken she can easily repair it), then she loses that part of her soul.
Father's Sword- She carries around her father's sword that she's trained with since she was a little girl. Needless to say while it doesn't have any kind of magical ability, she's quite adept with the blade.
